I'm afraid I can't argue with that. But what of you? What do you say of yourself that others haven't said or don't usually say?

Oh, I say probably a lot of the things other people say, only with a little more arrogance, I'm sure. If you're asking what I'm into, though, video games and dicking around with tech. I like building computers, it's relaxing. What about you? Fashion, your profile says? What kind? Anything I might've seen in retail or anything?

An engineer of sort, impressive. I can see how that kind of work would be relaxing. In many ways it is absolute, is it not?

Oh no. I design my own work, most of them one of a kind, unique works of art. Although I'm not above buying retail and altering it to my own tastes.

Yeah, see I like that, you get it. Most people don't. They think it's about the tactile compulsion or a need for a sense of accomplishment, it isn't really like that for me. It's just a thing to do that I know will always turn out pretty much the same every time. The process is almost always exactly the same, so it's monotonous and soothing in a weird way.

You should start a line, man, you could make bank.

It's almost the same reason I do a lot of hand-stitched work. The rhythm of it is relaxing and meditative. I understand.

I'll keep that in mind. Thank you, Jared. [ Amusing, because he's the premiere stylist in The Capitol. He has a line. But it's never been about the money for him. ]

May I ask where you're from?

Me? I'm from Indianapolis, Indiana. Nowhere cool, unless you like Indy Racing or the Colts. What about you?

Oh I think horses are beautiful, majestic creatures. [ He has no idea what Indy Racing is though. ] But I must ask, what are indies?

I'm from a place called Panem. But I'm beginning to understand that most here don't know anything of it, which is somewhat of a relief, I suppose.

Ha, oh, no uh...I mean yeah, horses are cool as fuck, but the Colts is a football team from my hometown, so it's all I ever hear about. Indy Racing? It's like NASCAR but not lame.

Huh. Yeah, I can't say I've heard of it, but Panem isn't the only thing I've never heard of while talking to people on this app, so you're in good company at least.

Football. Sports. I understand. [ He doesn't know football, but it sounds like a sports and he's finally catching on to the fact that that's what they're talking about. He assumes NASCAR to be the same. Indy Racing as well. ] I wish I were more knowledgeable on the subject. But I can understand why people enjoy them.

I think you're right. And I do enjoy the differences from one person to the next, even as simple as one who likes football and another who has no idea what that is.

Is Indianapolis a nice place to live?

I'm not a big sports guy myself, so it's all good. I guess I can see why people like them but they're not really for me, so much.

Yeah, that's...new. That's definitely something I've never experienced before and I do have to give it credit for being pretty damn interesting.

Eh, depends on where in Indianapolis you are. I was up in Geist, so yeah. My parents are both six figures so we lived in the general area of town where all the football players and Indy racers live. The rich part, basically. So yeah, it's nice. Downtown, on the other hand...little less nice. I did like Broadripple, though, they had some pretty awesome bands on the pub crawl, I'll give it that.

What about Panem?

Oh, Panem itself is beautiful aesthetically speaking in all respects. But like your Indianapolis, there is a class system. I lived in The Capitol, basically the epicenter of Panem. The lower Districts sound like your Downtown. Those Districts want for basic things that I wish they didn't have to want for. But hopefully time will change that for the better.

It sounds as if you've done some traveling.

Everywhere is like that, man. There's a huge divide between classes where I come from, not just in Indianapolis, but all over my country. All over the world. That's just life and it sucks a lot of ass but it is what it is, there's not much that can be done to change it. The 1% have all the money but they also have all the power. The 99% are too goddamned tired from working their asses off to stay alive that they don't have the energy to do anything other than bitch about it. Been like that for generations and generations. Eventually, something's gotta give, but...I'm fortunate. My parents are rich as hell. I don't have to endure that struggle.

Ha, uh...no those are all just suburbs of Indianapolis, man. I haven't gotten around much. This is new for me, but I'm kinda loving it so far. What about you, you get to travel much?

It doesn't seem like this place is like that, at least not so far. And in that, I find hope. [ Really, he looks for hope anywhere he can find it. It's in such short supply in Panem. It might seem naive, but it's not. It's survival. Cinna is all too aware of certain horrific realities. ]

Only in the last year. I got to travel to all the Districts in Panem. [ For Katniss and Peeta's victory tour, which wasn't much of a celebration nor was there time for sight seeing. ] It was interesting to see other places, different people. But there was little time for sight-seeing, unfortunately. This place is really the first trip where there's been time. I'm enjoying it as well.

[ Jared, on the other hand, is sort of a pessimist; he imagines that it's going to feel different here because they're guests and that's about it. Not that he's complaining. ] I mean, so far so good, right?
